Connecticut beach wedding with bride and groom on rocks

Anna and Neb where do I start! Let me start with saying this was one of THE MOST magical experiences of my life so I can’t imagine how it was for you. Listening to your family and friends say the most heartfelt speeches about what kind people you two are and how much you give to others while a rainbow appeared behind you (cue the tears.) Stella Blue Couples, I know I am the photographer, and meeting many of your people for the first time, but I sink myself into every click of the shutter and feel all the love and energy you put forward for me to capture.

To start the day, I walked into the most lovely energy at the bridal getting ready. Anna looked absolutely stunning and calm! She was truly “at home” in her childhood house and headed to her family’s beach. It all was planned perfectly by her family and the wonderful Kelley from A La Carte Events. There was truly not a worry in the world. Shout out to all my planner friends!

There was a threat of rain earlier that week but all it gave us was gorgeous clouds for the guests to sit under as they waited for the ceremony to begin. You could hear the ocean and birds in the background as they were getting married on a private CT shoreline bird sanctuary. So serene and peaceful. The ocean was visible from all around. It was truly a gift.

At the ceremony they exchanged public vows. The private vows were said after their first look and they were so emotional. So many laughs and tender moments that are kept private for the couple. Their public vows included an exchange of gorgeous ornate robes in the Ethiopian tradition and a breaking of the glass in the Jewish tradition.

The guests enjoyed some cocktails while we took family photos and a few more portraits and YES, the couple got to enjoy their cocktail time!

Setting up in the tent was the live band. There is nothing quite like a live band to keep everyone on the dance floor. It is definitely worth having your own personal concert for your closest family and friends. And they DANCED! This group knows how to party. I don’t think some couples sat down for one song, it was that good!

The rainbow that appeared during the speeches stayed with us for about a half an hour and we ran across the field to chase it. There is nothing more fun than running bare feet in the grass chasing rainbows, highly recommended!

Anna and Neb, your day was as beautiful and as warm as you both are. I can’t imagine this all happening for a kinder couple. It was an honor to photograph this special moment in your lives.
