The beginning of fall set the perfect backdrop for Oksana and Harrison’s wedding at The Patterson Club in Fairfield. So much happens on the wedding day, but on this day one thing remained constant, the way Harrison looks at Oksana in a way that is both reassuring and in awe of her, you can see it in all of the photos. These two even took a few moments after the ceremony, just the two of them, no cameras, to truly take in the importance of not just the celebration but their marriage. This wedding was not only a celebration of two people but of two cultures coming together. Oksana’s Ukrainian heritage was thoughtfully woven into the day alongside Ecuador and Western traditions, giving the celebration both intimacy and depth. It was a wedding that honored family history while creating something distinctly theirs.

One highlight was the Ukrainian handkerchief dance, a tradition that dates back centuries. In Ukrainian weddings, embroidered handkerchiefs (known as rushnyky) symbolize blessings, unity, and the ties between generations. The dance, full of movement and laughter, carried that same spirit. As the handkerchief passed between hands, it felt like both a nod to the past and a blessing for the future.

Later in the evening, the parent dances left the entire room moved. Oksana with her father and mother, Harrison with his mother — every step felt heartfelt. As a parent and daughter you know these moments are heavy and light at the same time.

The cake cutting was one of my favorite parts of the day! Instead of a quiet, tucked-away cake cutting, Oksana and Harrison turned it into a full celebration. Sparklers lit up, the music turned up, and there was even a champagne tower.

The Patterson Club’s elegant setting paired beautifully with the personal touches Oksana and Harrison brought to their day. From meaningful traditions to moments of pure fun, their wedding was a reminder that the best celebrations are the ones that feel completely true to the couple at the center of it all.
