When I tell you, there’s something magical about photographing weddings at The Candlewood Inn in Brookfield, Connecticut, you need to see the photos to see what I am talking about. I’ve been lucky enough to capture countless moments there, but each time I’m reminded why I love it so much. Recently, I had the pleasure of photographing a beautiful summer wedding, and everything about the day was simply perfect.

We were able to keep the party inside for most of the day and just come out for photos so everyone stayed comfortable in the heat. No matter what the weather forecast holds for your wedding day, the lake is the perfect backdrop. One of the venue’s standout features is the reception area, which has a full, unobstructed view of Candlewood Lake. As the sun begins to set, guests can see the vibrant colors of the sunset through the wall-to-wall windows. It’s a breathtaking sight that often tempts couples and guests to step outside to fully enjoy the moment. Even if there is no golden hour because of cloud cover, the view is a backdrop where most guests are taking photos.
